I have to admit, I like reality shows. I like Hell’s Kitchen, Master Chef, Chopped, Dancing With The Stars, and a few others. I watched Toddlers & Tiaras once, and hated it. I’m sorry if this offends anyone that likes them, but I’m just being honest.
I’m not a fan of beauty pageants for children. I think that it places too much pressure on a child to be on display and judged. I hate the layers of make-up they are forced to wear. I hate the outfits they have to wear. I hate the way they are pressured to perform and win.
Honestly, what kind of values do children like this learn? What about the children that don’t actually want to be in pageants, but the parents force them to? I see the commercials for the show, and it upsets me to see little girls given the responsibility of an adult. I’m not against all beauty pageants. I think teenage beauty pageants and the Miss USA Pageant are fine. Teenagers are old enough to stand up for themselves if they do not want to participate. The Miss USA Pageant and others like it are for adults. I’m just against young kids like Honey Boo Boo Child doing pageants.
