Last week, I posted the Slawsa Grilled Cheese Burger recipe. Remember that I said in the post that they were sending me a jar of Slawsa to review? It arrived in the mail last week, and I’ve been using it, a lot.
Slawsa is a healthy topping that you can use on a number of things. I’ve used in on hamburgers and hotdogs. If you check out the Slawsa website, you can find a couple of ways to use Slawsa on their recipe page.
Slawsa is only 15 calories a tablespoon, with 0 fat and 0 cholesterol. It’s also gluten free. It reminds me of a relish, but with more of a range of flavors and texture. The slaw makes it crunchy. It also has a little sweetness and bite in the flavor. It’s one of those things that you really have to taste for yourself.
Speaking of tasting Slawsa for yourself, you can. If you live in NC or SC, there are two events coming up:
I really like Slawsa. It turns my plain turkey burger into a gourmet burger. My husband and kids enjoyed it on hotdogs. We’ve gone through over half of the jar already. I also had some on an egg sandwich. I use eggbeaters, and the slawsa gave my plain egg sandwich some really nice flavor.
To find out if Slawsa is available near you, go to their store locator. If they are not carried by your store, talk to your store manager. See if he will order some in for you. I’ll be checking out my local Wal-Mart for some. The jar they sent me will be empty soon.
